Got An Eyelid Twitch? Here Are 6 Possible Causes.

It’s a very peculiar sensation: those twitching, vibrating, tiny motions your eyelid can sometimes make. They’re caused by a nerve in your eye. The human eyelid is very fragile and sensitive. Most of the time, the twitching will stop of its own accord, but when this isn’t the case, it might be time to make a few lifestyle changes. Your eyelid twitch is probably caused by one of these six things.

1. Too much caffeine
Drinking too much coffee might be causing your eyelid twitch. Caffeine contains stimulating properties that can raise your heartbeat, boost your metabolism and activate certain muscles. And yes, that could also be the muscles in your eyes. According to experts, the muscles in your eyes are more sensitive to caffeine than other muscles. There’s no specific amount of caffeine that will cause your eye to start twitching, but lowering your intake won’t harm. When you regularly have an eye twitch, try remembering whether you had a coffee or other caffeinated drink before the twitching started.

2. Alcohol
Drinking alcohol can have the same effect on your eyelids as drinking caffeine. Is your eyelid doing its own thing again? Then you might want to skip having that glass of wine.

3. Stress
Eye twitching is often caused by stress. Your body has multiple ways of dealing with stress and eye twitching is one of them. So, you can take an eyelid twitch as a sign that you need to slow down a little. Do you suspect that your eyelid twitch is caused by stress? Try to find out what’s causing this and try to prevent it in the future.

4. Allergies
When you suffer from allergies, there are a few things that can happen to your eyes. They can get watery, or dry, they can swell, itch, get irritated… Or they could twitch.

6. Dry eyes
Drinking too much caffeine or alcohol can cause dry eyes, but you can also get dry eyes due to things unrelated to alcohol and caffeine. People who wear contact lenses will be very familiar with this. Dry eyes can also cause an eyelid twitch. Actually, all causes come together with this factor, because stress and fatigue can cause dry eyes as well, which in turn can lead to an eyelid twitch.

Tips
Finding a solution doesn’t have to be difficult. Getting enough sleep and rest and making sure you avoid stress can help a lot. An eyelid massage can also help every now and then. When you notice your eyes are dry, you could use eye drops to relieve them.

DDiS, VVT, VTVT, understand what is this?

I t took us million of years to evolve into human beings. The case with IC engines too is not very different, and the frugal yet powerful engines that power our cars today are a result of over several decades of work. The development curves of engines from different manufacturers may have been different, but they tried to modify certain key parameters to bring engines at this stage. VTVT / VVT etc. can be put under one such technology group. In this article, we discuss it in detail.  1. DDIS  (Diesel direct injection system) refers to the type of diesel engines for cars . They are equipped with turbochargers, which increase availability of oxygen, resulting in better combustion thus increasing the engine performance. 2. Variable valve timing ( VVT ) is the process of altering the timing of a valve lift event, and is often used to improve performance, fuel economy or emissions. It is increasingly being used in combination with variable valve lift systems. It var...
